Disk Golf
This last weekend I was trying to think of something fun to do, and then I remembered how a friend of mine mentioned going disk golfing with his roommate. I thought it might be fun to give it a try. I mean how hard to could it be right, all you have to do is throw a frisbee. However it turns out it was a little bit more difficult than that.
So I called up my friend and we decided it would be a fun way to spend the rest of our Sunday. So he, his roommate, and I went out to Sherwood Forest Disk Golf Course. Luckily they had an extra set of disks for me to use. I was kind of surprised that just like in real golf there was a driver disk, a midrange disk, and a putter disk.
So we put in a few practice shots and then hit the course. All of the holes where par three, since it was technically a kids course. I don't know what kind of kid could make par on that course based on how I did. The course itself of was pretty cool lots of flowers and butterflies. It also was right next a creek that, like most of the grass on the fairways had begun to dry up from the summer heat. There were also many signs that said beware of wildlife, but I was still surprised when I almost stepped on a four foot long snake.
I had a really fun time disk golfing, even though a got beaten pretty handily. I wish I had discovered this course earlier in my time at Chico. There are actually a few courses in the area, and the sport(If you can call it that) is growing in popularity. So if you want to try something new and fun look online and see if there is a course near you.

Until next time,

I've never been, but it sounds awesome! I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteYou totally should. Maybe we can all go sometime. The course is free so all you need are the disks.
